Hide Your True Age with a Neck Lift

There’s nothing like a sagging neck to show off our true age to everyone. The neck region develops loose skin, fine lines, wrinkles, folds, and jowls as we age. For some people it can be embarrassing and make them feel insecure. As a result, those who have sagging neck skin my end up losing their confidence.
A neck lift, however, can lift and tone the appearance of the neck by removing fine lines and folds and tightening the skin. It will make your neck look more youthful and more attractive. It can also boost your confidence levels and make you feel more secure in your skin.
What Can a Neck Lift Help with?
A neck lift will remove the early signs of aging from the neck and face as well as the jawline. It will do the following:
• Remove excess fat and fatty deposits in the lower face, chin, jawline, and neck and remove excess folds of skin that create jowls.
• Improves the banding of muscles in the neck that creates abnormal and unsightly contours
• Tightens loose skin on the neck
• Removes excess fat deposits underneath the chin and neck
The skin on the lower face and neck tends to lose its youthfulness and beauty due to age, stress, gravity, environmental pollution, and many other factors. A neck lift can help reverse these early signs and improve your overall look.
A neck lift can help make you look more vibrant. It can make your skin look more firm and reinvigorate your youthful allure. It can help eliminate a turkey wattle, double chin, and jowls.
A neck lift may be performed with a brow lift, a face lift, eyelid surgery, and fat transfer for enhanced results. These surgeries are done to improve the appearance of different parts of the face and by combining one of these with a neck lift, you can improve your overall look.
How Is a Neck Lift Performed?
Before undergoing the procedure, your surgeon will need to analyze your body and understand your goals during a consultation. Your surgeon will decide what is the best option for you depending on your individual needs. She will assess your health, medical history, allergies if any, and many more aspects of your health.
Your surgeon will begin the procedure by making an incision on the neck depending on the amount you want your neck changed. There are two types of neck lift incisions – a traditional neck lift incision and a limited incision neck lift. A traditional neck lift incision will start at the sideburns and continue down the ears and end at the hairline at the back of your neck.
Your surgeon will remove the skin flap and remove the excess fat and jowls. The underlying tissue is removed and repositioned and the platysma muscle is tightened. The remaining skin will then be placed over the surgical area and closed using sutures or skin tape.
A limited incision neck lift involves smaller and fewer incisions around the ears, but the results won’t look as refined as the traditional neck lift.
Once the incisions are closed, you may experience some swelling and bruising, but this is normal and will subside in time. You will notice immediate results that will improve overtime as you heal.
